2013 marks Smiles on Wings 10th year anniversary since it's founding by Dr. Usa Bunnag. Throughout the last decade, Smiles on Wings has positively impacted the lives of children and their families in rural, undeserved regions of Thailand by providing critical dental services, clean water and lunch programs, scholarships for young women, and much more. Please join us in honoring those who have helped Smiles on Wings throughout the years at "A Celebration of Smiles: Ten Year Anniversary Gala". More information will be provided soon.

Hi everyone! First of all I would like to give a big thank you to everybody who made the July 2012 mission at the King's Foundation R35 School in the Phang-na province and the Bangmaung School a huge success. We have an estimated total of 93 patients treated, 184 fillings, 116 sealants, 55 Fluoride treatments, and 47 Prophy treatments. All of the volunteers had such amazing experiences and I'm sure they would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Future Leaders of Maesariang

One of SOW’s main goals is to support young women to continue their education beyond high school. SOW does so by funding a scholarship program. SOW’s goal for 2013 is to build a dormitory that will provide a place for the young ladies to stay while in school.

Future scholarship recipients present Dr. Bunnag with handmade gifts. These young ladies weaved baskets and scarves as sign of appreciation of her help.
Young girls perform "The Brushing Song", a Thai song teaching kids the proper ways to brush their teeth.

Thailand Flood Relief 2011

Smiles on Wings’ Thailand Flood Relief Mission is underway.  The plane left Chiangmai with loads of supplies for 100 families and dog food for dogs that were rescued by shelters.  The plane will land in Loburi and wait for the team to travel from Chiangmai in our four-wheeled drive truck with additional supplies.  The volunteers will  work with the local army team and distribute supplies by boats in Ayudhaya area.  We thank our Thai team.  They have worked hard in the last weeks to prepare for the mission.  Godspeed to them.  We will update you next week with the report.  Thank you for your donations.  Our next relief mission, if necessary, will be in December.  The mission in January is planned with team of volunteers from the US, England and Thailand.  Please visit our website for more information. www.smilesonwings.org

Disastrous Floods Hit Thailand

SMILES ON WINGS AT THE READY TO AID IN RECOVERY EFFORT

The Thai and Southeast Asian flooding in recent days has only touched the margins of our news.  For Thailand, these floods cover significant portions of half the provinces in the country and represent a disaster of unimaginable proportions and the worst in decades.

The Smiles on Wings' Thai-based team is read to launch at the onset of the recovery phase, duplicating the great work volunteers did in the tsunami-ravaged Phang Nga Province in 2005.

The missing ingredient is your financial support.  We ask you to consider making an exceptionally generous donation at this time.  Thanks in advance for your generosity!
